TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT...Surface trough over the islands
will linger in the next few days. Satellite shows mostly of the
showers to the north and near east of Manua. Raob from this
afternoon depicts a stable profile. With the stationary low to the
far south, the surface trough will remain across the islands
during the short term. Therefore, expect scattered showers through
Thursday before becoming numerous showers on Thursday night. The
South Pacific Convergence Zone will develop and materialize
showers on Thursday night. Strong winds aloft will assist in
enhancing convections across the islands.
FRIDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...Showers will continue as the SPCZ remains
over the islands. Models are now depicting a couple of lows
developing within the SPCZ on Saturday night. One of the lows will
intensify winds across the islands on Sunday morning as it comes
near the territory. Winds aloft are depicted to diminish on Sunday
and the rest of the new week. Therefore, the development of these
embedded lows is favorable.
Seas have subsided below advisory levels in the last few hours.
Models depicted that the South Pacific Convergence Zone with
embedded lows will elevated seas above advisory levels on Sunday.
For now, expect seas of 4 to 7 ft for the rest of the week.
