Eastern Oklahoma/Northwest Arkansas Weather Summary

Showers and thunderstorms were moving though much of eastern 
Oklahoma and western Arkansas this afternoon. A stationary front was 
located over southeast Oklahoma for much of the day, and was again 
the focus for scattered showers and thunderstorms later this 
afternoon. Most of the precipitation was confined to locations south 
of I 40 in southeast Oklahoma and western Arkansas. Just south of 
the front, hot conditions were still common with afternoon highs in 
the 90s. Antlers reported an afternoon high of 97 degrees, while to 
the north cooler temperatures in the mid 80s were common. 
Later this evening, a few lingering showers were located in the 
vicinity of the Red River. The wind was light and variable at most 
locations. Showers and thunderstorms however, were beginning to 
approach the region from the west and north. Temperatures ranged in 
the in the 70s across the forecast area.
