DISCUSSION...
REST OF TODAY AND TONIGHT: High pressure continues to dominate the
weather pattern with sunny skies, light and variable winds. High
temperatures today in the mid to upper 70s around normal for this
time of year. Overnight tonight temperatures will be in the upper
50s to low 60s, warmer than the past few nights. There is a
chance for some patchy fog across the interior and Lake Okeechobee
region.
SHORT TERM / THIS WEEKEND/: Upper level ridging over the Bahamas
will begin to extend westward over the region this weekend. Surface
high pressure will build over the Bahamas and the wind will turn
more easterly by the end of the weekend. With this pattern in
place we we will see a gradual rise in temperatures this weekend
with highs in the low 80s. Low temperatures will be in the mid to
upper 60s.
LONG TERM/MONDAY INTO NEXT WEEK/: For the start of next week not
much changes with high pressure in place and low to no rain
chances and temperatures will continue to warm into the low to
mid 80s by Tuesday. Models are showing a cold front to move south
across the Florida panhandle and reaching South Florida mid- ext
week. With the front there is a chance of a few showers across the
area. This far out there is uncertainty with the fronts strength
and location.
