REGIONAL WEATHER SUMMARY FOR WESTERN KANSAS

Early morning clouds and fog had dissipated by mid morning, leaving 
mostly clear to partly cloudy skies across western Kansas until 
early this evening, when clouds and a few thunderstorms began 
developing across southwest Kansas late this afternoon. High 
temperatures today ranged from the mid 80s in eastern Kansas, to 
around 90 in southwest Kansas and the Oklahoma panhandle. 
An upper level low pressure trough over western Kansas will slowly 
move east overnight, while the cold front in southern Kansas 
continues to drop south into Oklahoma. This will bring increased 
chances for thunderstorms to develop tonight across much of 
southwest Kansas. Some of these storms can possibly produce heavy 
rainfall and local flooding. Another upper level trough will 
approach western Kansas tomorrow morning, bringing more thunderstorm 
activity to southwest Kansas during tomorrow morning and into 
tomorrow afternoon. Temperatures will drop to below normal tomorrow, 
and continue through mid week. 
Low temperatures tonight will range from the upper 50s in eastern 
Colorado, to the mid 60s in western Kansas, with mid to upper 50s in 
central and eastern Kansas. Highs tomorrow will range from the upper 
70s in northwest Kansas, to the mid 80s in southeast Kansas.
