...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY CONTINUES UNTIL 11 AM THIS MORNING FOR 
PORTIONS OF NORTHERN NEW MEXICO INCLUDING THE UPPER RIO GRANDE 
VALLEY...
GUSTY EAST WINDS PERSISTED INTO THE UPPER AND MIDDLE RIO GRANDE 
VALLEY OVERNIGHT...ALTHOUGH A GRADUAL WEAKENING WAS NOTED AS THE 
NIGHT PROGRESSED. LIGHT SNOW WAS OBSERVED FROM THE CLINES CORNERS 
AREA TO RATON DURING THE LATE NIGHT HOURS WITH TEMPERATURES NEAR THE 
FREEZING MARK AND HUMIDITIES CLOSE TO 100 PERCENT. IN THE FAR 
SOUTHWEST AND NORTHWEST CORNERS OF THE STATE...CLOUDS WERE CLEARING 
OUT AS AN UPPER LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM APPROACHED THE FOUR CORNERS 
REGION. 
THE STORM SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO TRACK OVER NORTHERN NEW MEXICO 
TODAY...WITH SHOWERS TAPERING OFF FROM WEST TO EAST. SOME ADDITIONAL 
SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE THIS MORNING OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN 
OF THE NORTH AS WELL AS THE UPPER RIO GRANDE VALLEY BEFORE TAPERING 
OFF BY MIDDAY. AFTERNOON SNOW SHOWERS SHOULD BE FOCUSED OVER THE 
HIGH PEAKS OF THE SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS WHILE ANY LINGERING 
SHOWERS ELSEWHERE SHOULD TURN TO RAIN. HIGHS TODAY WILL RANGE FROM 
NEAR AVERAGE IN THE FAR SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE STATE TO NEARLY 20 
DEGREES BELOW AVERAGE IN THE NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST.   
TEMPERATURES WILL MODERATE ON THURSDAY BUT REMAIN BELOW SEASONAL 
NORMALS. ANOTHER...BUT LESS VIGOROUS COLD FRONT WILL PUSH SOUTH 
ACROSS THE EASTERN PLAINS ON FRIDAY WITH MAINLY SLIGHT CHANCES FOR 
HIGHER TERRAIN SNOW AND LOWER ELEVATION RAIN. BELOW NORMAL 
TEMPERATURES ARE FORECAST TO CONTINUE OVER THE WEEKEND AS THE STATE 
REMAINS DOMINATED BY NORTHWEST WINDS ALOFT. HIGH TEMPERATURES 
TEMPORARILY RETURN TO NEAR SEASONAL NORMALS MONDAY AND TUESDAY OF 
NEXT WEEK WITH DRY CONDITIONS. THE TEMPERATURE ROLLER COASTER 
CONTINUES LATE NEXT WEEK WITH EXTENDED FORECAST MODELS INDICATING A 
STRONG COLD FRONT PLUNGING INTO THE STATE.
